How does an AI agent answer without making things up?

Updated 21 October 2026 · 4 min read · Written by the Chambre team

Short answer

It answers only from the knowledge you approve: your website, documents and Q&As. When something isn't covered, it says so and offers a follow-up from your team.

It answers from what you approve

Everything the agent knows about your business comes from your Knowledge Store: documents (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, text, Markdown or CSV), web pages, including the pages they link to, and Q&As you write. It's told to answer from that knowledge and nothing else.

It says when it doesn't know

When a question isn't covered, the agent says so and offers a follow-up from your team instead of guessing. You see those questions in the transcripts, which tells you what to add next.

You stay in control

  • Q&As for exact answers. Pricing rules, guarantees or anything you want worded precisely.
  • Switch sources on or off without deleting them, and choose which agents use each one.
  • Your sales pitch and unique selling proposition tell the agent how to present you, without overstating it.
  • Every conversation has a transcript in Leads, so you can review what was said.

The honest limits

No AI system is perfect. Keep your knowledge current, write Q&As for the questions that matter most, and read transcripts regularly, especially in the first few weeks.

See it on your own website in an afternoon.
